Vancouver, British Columbia
It was like a simple trip in the states, except for the abundance of kindness, the accent, and the 'sorry's. Oh, and the national border, though they didn't stamp my passport. It was my first time in Canada and Vancouver, British Columbia provided the perfect welcome. It was a quick trip, less than 24 hours, but packed with an amazing dinner at Cardero's and a morning on the water. We woke up at the Westin with this gorgeous view. It isn't often you're in the cush surroundings of a high-rise pad with an entirely lush green and blue view. The juxtaposition of all of this gorgeous nature right across the water from the incredible glass skyline of downtown. We strolled along the water's edge of Stanley Park and marveled at Coal Harbour from all the different vantage points. The afternoon came with the on-boarding of our cruise. As we sailed away, the skyline practically waved goodbye to us in true, friendly Canadian fashion. We'd spend the rest of the day at sea and wake up in Victoria. So, more to come from Canada!
