Justin pointed out that if you scroll the page down to just show the top half of the photo, it looks like J+A on the right don't like him. Also, it's times like these that I realize I am not tall, not tall at all...and when my J picks me up and my reaction is - 'whoooaa. so, this is what you people see!' ..times like then too. After we finished the French leg of the tour, we made it back to Brussels for the Belgian piece. You know how there's something about visitors or newcomers that help you find your faded excitement for a city? Not that our excitement has faded, but there are plenty a Belgian jig that we're so used to, newcomers help to remind us of them. Liiiiiike, this church that we always drive by..We swung by that church (which we found out is called Eglise Notre-Dame de Laeken). You know the one....you're driving out to the King's palace - the one he lives in - and boom! You turn a corner and the road swerves down and up and cuts a right just in front; it never gives you time enough to gawk at the detail this beauty deserves. It's also right near my favorite balloon shop that has not once been open when we've done this song and dance, but is still my favorite nonetheless (yes you, Ballon Ballon). So, we stopped. We snuck in. Okay, fine. We gently nudged the door and found that it was open and subsequently got kicked out - true story. It was time for the Atomium anyway. Look there's crazy people crawling over the, um, er, balls. We've also never actually been inside the Atomium. We've visited the balls from the outside plenty (like here and here), but it took J+A and a gorgeous day for us to make it up the 300 some odd feet. That view, man. That view was something spectacular. Who knew Brussels had that much green? Bravo on the landscaping, guys. We scoped out the town hall and pointed out the areas where we'd spend the rest of the day. They let you go into more balls than you'd think. Each a little more psychedelic than the last, quite unexpected. All four of us walked out of there feeling funky and glad to know we weren't alone. Although, the verdict isn't totally out that it wasn't the waffles that we scarfed down seconds before we rode to the top.Onwards! TO THE CITY!We swung by the Cinquantenaire and the Royal Palace, partly because they were on the way but mostly because these two places are the shiz. The A's would start cracking up every time they went to take a picture together, something about the hugging and the hand holding and the prom pics, but the J's are pretty sure there was just a lot of scheming coordination going on... Headed to the Grand Place. Ba da da daaaa! (like a trumpet)Thanks for the laughs and the memories and the copious amounts of couples pictures. But, overall, thanks for just being genuinely awesome to the core. We have approximately 1,000 pictures from last weekend to justify it.We love
you guys y'all. Now, finish up that incredible vacay already so you can tell us all about London and Ireland and then let us copy your trip.
