Secret San Francisco Spaces

San Francisco is consumed with trendy cocktail joints.I planned on wearing my white maxi for a gal date with Kelly. Except the morning's forecast was a gray one, so I threw on my boots in a last-minute dash out the door.It often feels like my days are drained clocking in and by the time I clock out, the personal to do list is double the size. It's days when I have adventures planned with friends to make me forget the long list of reply emails I need to write (also, the cocktails help out a little). Days when we get to explore and create! Kelly has a knack for those days.We met in The Mission and walked a few pastel-hued and mural covered blocks before we approached the doorman who carded us (!!) for entry. Such an activity always makes me feel like I should be donning heels, skinny jeans and a clutch. That was until we walked in and remembered we're in SF, where casual reigns. We ordered names off the carte that sounded more like cartoon characters than beverages. Mine came with homemade marshmallows. Score. It was standing room only with a back door that peered into a resto with an equally swanky feel. We put our name down and finished our works of art in a mug.

We're a try all the flavors kind of pair. As such, we have a tendency of over-ordering and the husbands get the benefit of leftovers. This was not the case. The portions of each course were inversely proportional to the taste...which was heavenly.

Have you tried either of these? Are there any secret spaces in this city that you need me to know about - you can send it to me directly, but I might blog about it..
