Pisa, Italy + her leaning tower
She was much more of a looker than I had imagined, that Leaning Tower of Pisa. We had seen her from above when we flew à la Pisa airport on our trip to Florence and hadn't really paid much attention to the details of the curves and columns in photos. But in person, there was no denying it. It was on this trip to Tuscany to watch a fourteen year old's orchestra tour that we decided to stay the night in town and spend some quality marveling time. The funniest part was watching the posers (heh) pull out their best poses. Some had elaborate, group schemes, some were just couples taking turns holding it up, some tried for awkwardly long periods of time trying to get juuuust the right selfie. It was the perfectly spaced out ones who would climb and balance on the cement posts that cracked us up the most.. Italy was its usual braggy self. We ate it up, including the Neapolitan pizza and caprese salad. So, tell me. Are we the only ones that were so surprised by how much her posture overshadowed her pretty?
