Paris in the Springtime
Paris in the Springtime is a dream. The flowers have begun blooming and locals begin to stretch their wintered feet. While there's still a chill in the air, making stops for hot coffee or red wine almost required. We visited the City of Light in May and the memories of why we loved it so came flooding back after being away for two years. We stayed in a darling Airbnb in the Bastille that had that quintessential view of Paris rooftops from the scrolled bar windowsill. The sun toyed with us and we needed a light layer to shield us from the drizzle all week long, which was perfect timing to try out our new Helly Hansen gear. We've had more than our fair share of rain between Paris and London this year and, while my skin longs for more vitamin D, having adorably chic - sorry, Justin - I mean, having adorably chic and dashingly handsome rain gear makes heading out in the elements much more fun. I've got a doozy of a photo journal to show you what I'm talking about. Follow me..
The week was filled with indulgences. We took Beth's pastry tour challenge and got to #8 in one day...a fact that still holds great triumph in our household. If you take it, let me know because it's really important that certain members of my household know he holds the record.
There was a jaunt out to Versailles that might hold the record for one of the weirdest days of my life. Also, Justin locked himself out of the house in London that day to commemorate the first time I've ever left him alone. The whole day was a sign that we travel better together - universe in sync and all. He came to meet me in Paris the next day and we went on a pastry tour, so you might have heard, it was one for the books.
This trip was also highlighted by the views. THE VIEWS. I couldn't even capture them all for you because some were just taken in with jaws dropped and heart eyes a-flutter.
