Musée du Louvre
Coincidentally, our latest spur of the moment trip to Paris ended up being on the first Sunday of the month. Every first Sunday, Paris opens up a number of museums for free access. (They might do it in your city too, check it out!) Musée du Louvre was on our list for obvious reasons. I. M. Pei's glass pyramid that stands central to the palace and comprises the entry to the museum is a complete marvel. The line to get in was decent at 9am and moved faster than expected, though if you have a stroller, you get special access..word.We spent the better part of our morning and early afternoon perusing the massive museum. That place is a labyrinth. At first sight, the map would appear to be straight forward, until you turn the corner and you're in the Greek Antiquities, when you swore you were heading to the Islamic Art. The Islamic Art, by the way, is incredible. It was definitely one of our favorites. We also paid visit to notables such as Leonardo de Vinci's leading lady and Venus de Milo and a host of beauties along the way.Don't you just love getting your culture on? What are some of your favorite art pieces in the world?
