International School of Brussels (ISB), one of the grade schools in the area, held their International Festival last weekend. The school gymnasium was filled with all the different nationalities comprised by the classmates and their families. Little kids running around, food, drink, pottery from all over the world, we were just waiting for them to start playing 'It's a Small World'.Holland brought the tulips..
Ireland played the bagpipes. These are the same fellas from the St. Paddy's parade I found myself in last year..
You could get your name written in calligraphy..
I fell in love with these sweet kimonos..
The American booth was as patriotic as you'd expect, complete with a bald eagle mural that one might see spray painted on the back of a Ford pickup. 'Mericuh. No they did not have funfetti cupcakes, but we did score some root beer floats and explained to our friends that root beer isn't beer, but still the combo of ice cream and coke-substitute was strange.
We ate Swiss bar-be-que and Justin had a Swiss beer while I went for the sparkling Shiraz from New Zealand..
A mini trip around the world and back to Brussels that afternoon!
