Coming Home to Comfort with Leesa

On weekends when we're not traveling, we take full advantage of lazy morning wake-ups. We lounge in bed for way too long while we listen to the neighbors out and about for hours. We don't tell our friends with kids what time we wake up, but for the record, if we're showered and out of the house for noon, it's a rarity. Traveling takes a lot out of us and it's important to give yourself this rest....is how we justify it. *wink. We'll turn on Spotify's British Breakfast playlist and sip coffee on the patio. These are our selfish days and we're taking full advantage of them. Weekends are our jam. 63 hours of uninterrupted A+J time. We even do a little weekend jig when Justin gets home from work on Fridays.

Much of this lounging has everything to do with how comfy our bed is. We've been living on the mattress that was one of my first big kid investments when Justin and I first started dating way back when. It felt like we were playing house and making big decisions.. and it ended up being an unexpected travel companion. We definitely hauled that thing from Dallas to Brussels to San Francisco to London (what is our life?!) and it became a show and tell to our European friends who had never seen something so unnecessarily big and cozy. (American queen is Euro king and most hotels are dorm sized singles pushed together.) But no matter how many times we fluffed and fluffed, this cat's nine lives were beginning to show its age. No matter how much we wanted to hang on to one of the last material constants in our life.

In came Leesa with a chance to try out their luxury mattress and out went our old friend to a family of four who just finished a mission trip in Georgia and needed temporary duds for a stint in London before they headed back home to.....Dallas! Life is funny. Big shoes being filled in 3..2..

The mattress arrived within two days of ordering from Leesa. All compact compressed and easily storable out of sight until we didn't have company in our living room and could finally unroll that bad boy out. The unpackaging was quite mesmerizing in itself.First things first - the white stripes on the sleek, gray pattern are such a lovely design detail. When our sheets are in the wash, our room still looks polished and put together. We plopped the layered foam into our bed frame and simultaneously plopped ourselves onto our respective sides, "Ahhh." The contouring. Oh, the contouring! It's like I can feel each vertebrae relaxing as my body just melts into it. Four years running without air conditioning and it can get pretty sauna-fied quickly, living with a heater...ahem, I mean, Justin. The material and airflow between the high quality layers has made sleeping cooler (rock on!) and more comfortable.

Whether we're reading to each other or just delaying the day, we're pretty spoiled to have this little haven. What's your favorite way to relax in between hectic life?
