Our Brussels Anniversary Photo Shoot
It was a mere four months after that epic celebration of "I do"s that we packed up our life for our biggest adventure yet. Still glowing in that bridal glow and lingering ideas from living on inspiration for months on end, I snuck my wedding dress in the shipment for a dream scenario that we could fit in an anniversary photo shoot. Two years, a million stories, and a dear, dear friendship later... Cass took me up on my scheming and gave us the best send-off present before we repatriated. Us in our glam, her with her camera, hubs and kiddos running around, playing in the park, and the city where we became forever friends. We started out in her underground parking garage (wait til you see the photo!) before we took to Brussels' Parc du Cinquantenaire. The park holds the arches that were built for the 50th anniversary of Belgian independence back in 1880. It was a very gray, typical Brussels kind of day that only added to the romanticism in the shoot, I find. A butterfly, that Justin and I both flicked away thinking it was a bug-bug, landed perfectly on my dress, perched as if it were a brooch. This is the kind of magic we were working with and I blame it all on Cass. Afterwards, the six of us grabbed pizza and dined picnic-style at their home and, in hindsight, those are the memories we should have been capturing!
